Disclaimer
Ownwise helps you practise money decisions. It does not make them for you, and it does not know your business.
1. Learning, not advice
Everything on Ownwise is for learning. It is not financial, investment, tax, accounting or legal advice, and it does not replace a professional who knows your situation. Before a decision that matters — a price change, a loan, hiring, taxes — check it with a qualified adviser.
2. Made-up cases, a teaching model
- The businesses and people in the cases are made up. Any likeness to real businesses or people is a coincidence.
- The results in the cases come from a simplified teaching model: it leaves out, for example, taxes, seasons and spoiled stock. They show how a decision works in the model, not what would happen in a real business.
- The lessons and cases are original texts of Ownwise.
3. Your own numbers
"Your business" calculates with the numbers you enter, using the formulas of the block. The result is only as good as the numbers and the formula's assumptions. It is a starting point for thinking, not an answer.
4. AI feedback can be wrong
AI feedback is written by an AI model (Claude by Anthropic). It can misread your explanation, miss a point or be wrong. It gives no mark. The numbers in your answers are checked by the site's code, not by the AI, and the author's review is always shown next to the AI feedback. If the AI and the author's review disagree, trust the author's review and your own check.
5. No promise of results
We do not promise that Ownwise will raise your income, profit or savings. There are no testimonials on this site, and no numbers about results of learners: Ownwise is new and has not measured them.
6. No endorsement
Some blocks build on outside materials, listed on Sources and licences. Their authors and publishers do not endorse Ownwise, and Ownwise is not affiliated with them or with any university.
